Analysis and possibilities of therapy of postural functions in young hockey players
NETOLIČKOVÁ, Nela
The bachelor thesis is devoted to the possibilities of therapy of postural functions in hockey players. The aim of the thesis is to analyze possible postural deviations and their prevention at an early age and to find a combination of physiotherapeutic methods for hockey preparation. Taking into account the age of the target group, the exercise unit is designed mainly as a preventive tool. Ice hockey is one of the sports in which a unilateral load is typical, which, when exposed to this load from an early age, can lead to faulty posture and muscular imbalances. Prep hockey is open to children from 4 to 12 years old. We have to take into account the growth and further development of these children, which can be affected if the emphasis is not placed on compensation and prevention. The aim of this paper is to describe the issues related to postural function in children at the level of hockey prep. Another aim of the thesis is to compile a combination of methods and concepts as a prevention for these children. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis deals with ice hockey as a sport, the muscular imbalances associated with this sport and the physiotherapeutic methods that can be included in training. The theoretical part serves as a basis for the practical part. The practical part includes research that took place for ten weeks with ice hockey players from SK Horácká Slavia Třebíč. It includes an initial kinesiological analysis, an exercise unit (strengthening and stretching), an output kinesiological analysis and a questionnaire completed at the end of the research. Follow-up meetings and therapy took place according to the probands' abilities every week. From the results we can conclude that mainly stretching, but also strength training has a positive impact on the posture of the participating boys. Some imbalances were compensated and the deep stabilization system was activated. This work is suitable for review by physiotherapists with an interest in sports, hockey coaches, hockey players or the general public.
Sledování posturálních a respiračních funkcí u pacientů se skoliózou
PEVNÁ, Veronika
The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts, namely the theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis deals with a description of the kinesiology of the spine, defining the term scoliosis and classification of scoliosis, focuses on respiratory function, deep stabilization system, and its connection with respiratory and postural functions. At the end of the theoretical part, respiratory physiotherapy and its individual methods are described, which are widely used in patients with scoliosis. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe the treatment options for patients with scoliosis, which was fulfilled in the theoretical part of the bachelor thesis, and in the form of case studies to describe therapeutic procedures affecting postural and respiratory functions in specific patients. The practical part of the bachelor´s thesis is conducted in the form of qualitative research, because the research sample consists of three adult patients who were diagnosed with the scoliosis. The sub-targets are verified through individual therapies lasting between two and three months, during which postural and respiratory functions in specific patients are monitored. The results of the survey are recorded in a brief evaluation of the effectiveness of the therapy. The bachelor thesis can be used by physiotherapists as an inspiration for therapeutic procedures in individual patients, or it can serve as educational material for the general public, who would like to learn more about the topic of scoliosis or methods used in the treatment of scoliosis.
The angle of femoral anteversion in relation to postural functions. Objectivization by means of ultrasonography
Dymešová, Eva ; Ocmanová, Renata (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
The intact development of postural functions is the condition for the posture. The muscles are automatically integrated into the posture by maturing of the central nervous system. Together with the postural function of the phasic muscles the morphology of the skeleton matures too. The target of this work is to prove the influence of the muscles onto the morphology of the hip joint - femoral neck anteversion. Point to the cohesion of clinical symptoms of the bigger femoral neck anteversion. The results of the clinical survey compare with the ultrasound of the hip joint. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The objectification of postural function of abdominal muscles
Novák, Jakub ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Davídek, Pavel (referee)
This thesis evaluates the possibility of using objective measurements to assess the postural function of abdominal muscles. The theoretical part provides an overview of findings regarding postural function of the abdominal muscles and the context for their co-activation using intra-abdominal pressure. The results are summarized in the form of research studies relating postural function and low back pain (LBP). The overview of the methods used to measure intra-abdominal pressure and the abdominal muscle activity is the main focus. In this section, we present a new methodology for measuring the activity of the abdominal muscles by using pressure sensors attached to the abdominal wall in the areas of the groin and the lumbar triangle. Methodology: In the experimental part, we tested 35 healthy subjects (average age 21.26t, SD ± 1,62) in 3 posturally different seated scenarios: 1. resting breathing, 2. with added external load (the subjects held a dumbbell 20% of their body weight) and 3. with maximum voluntary increase in intra-abdominal pressure (the diaphragm test). Results: An independent samples t-test indicated that the pressure created by the abdominal wall for both sensors in situation resting breathing increases in situation external load (HA1: upper sensor p=0.0079, lower sensor p=0.0009). We...
The influence of physical activity on postural function disorders in school children
Voldán, Jiří ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Prajerová, Květa (referee)
Title: The influence of physical activity on postural function disorders in school children Objectives: The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the state of postural function of pupils of 4th, 7th and 9th grades, and to measure their physical activity and subsequent evaluation of the impact of physical activity on the incidence of functional postural disorders in these children. Methods: The thesis used methods of observation and questionnaires. Evaluation of the state of postural function was held by observation using test evaluation of posture according to Jaroš and Lomíček. The rate of children's physical activity was detected using a questionnaire. Results: It was found that pupils who are not engaged in any organized physical activity is a greater incidence of functional postural disorders and overall condition of postural function is worse than that of students who play sports. Keywords: physical activity, postural functions, school children, evaluation
Prevention of postural defects in the population
Langmajerová, Jana ; Müllerová, Dana (advisor) ; Novák, Jaroslav (referee) ; Dlouhý, Pavel (referee)
This dissertation aims at verifying methodology used for somatographic evaluation of the shape and statics of the spine. The potential of the methodology verified lies in increased objectivity of upright body posture evaluation and thereby contributes to the specification of preventative measures for postural defects, and their consequences. Under a cross-sectional pilot study, a non-invasive somatographic method-a diagnostic DPT-3 system designated for spine shape diagnostics-was used to examine selected biomechanical parameters (spinal curves and statics in the sagittal plane in the upright position) in a total of 508 probands. Of this, 326 were school-age children and 182 adults. Among the key parameters monitored were: Cl (depth of cervical lordosis); LI (depth of lumbar lordosis); the sagittal balance of Cl/Ll, and VThk (distance of the peak of the thoracic kyphosis from the ideal verticals-IV). A questionnaire was used to evaluate the level of movement activity in probands and the relation between the occurrence of painful back and headaches and the measurement of biomechanical parameters and movement activity. A total of 81.3 % of children and 94.5 % of adults were found to have deviations from the biomechanically ideal posture model, which signals a postural defect. The values of the Cl (p...
Impact of core muscle activation on postural function in people with multiple sclerosis
Birčáková, Martina ; Novotná, Klára (advisor) ; Sládková, Petra (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the impact of activation of core muscles on postural function in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). The aim is to assess the effect of Acral coactivational therapy (ACT) on core activation. Furthermore, we will be tracking the suitability of using this method with different types of MS. The thesis has a practical and a theoretical section. The theoretical section deals with the illness of MS, the term core muscles is defined here along with its effect on postural function and lastly, there is a chapter addressing the ACT method. The practical section involved six patients with three types of MS. The effect of the ACT method is described using two case studies. The results confirming the effect of the therapy are presented in the form of tables and graphs. The effect on postural function was assessed by aspect examination while sitting, standing and in movement strategy tests and also by walking tests (Timed 25 foot walk test, Timed up and go test and one leg stand). Core muslce activation was examined using tests by Professor Kolář. The discussion contains a comparison of our results with the results of foreign studies dealing with this issue. The results show an improvement in core muscle activation in all patients. The movement strategy tests which is part...
Impact of a posture on the vocal performance
Koverdynský, Luděk
The aim of the dissertation thesis is to clarify the impact of a posture on the quality of voice performance. Through the method of a natural experiment, the authors carries out a research about the importance of a postural function in connection to building up basic voice skills. We will observe, both from theoretical and practical point of view if and through which means can we influence the incorrect postural habits and how these changes affect voice performance. The methodological handbook is a natural output which takes into account the relation of the postural function, breath and its development with assistance of vocal hearing as a corrector of the quality of voice performance. The outcomes of the research that helped to verify the new methodological approach approved correctness of suggested methods and their general validity. As a result, a knowledgeable teacher can use the new teaching method at all levels of students'musical development. KEY WORDS: Voice performance, postural function, diaphragm, vocal hearing, breath excercises with fonation. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
